Spiritualist Marianne Williamson is running for Congress in California, hoping to bring more “heart” to the political process as an enlightened lawmaker.
Williamson will run as an Independent, saying she doesn’t view incumbent Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) as her “opponent,” since the two are merely pursuing the same position.
Hoping to keep the tone inspirational, her campaign paraphernalia shows a flock of doves soaring above an American flag and her tagline is “create anew.”
“Politics shouldn’t be the least heart-filled thing we do; it should be the most heart-filled thing we do. It should be a collective expression of our most enlightened selves,” a banner on her campaign website reads.
